A controlled manufacturing route

Define every acceptance point.

01

Technical review

Confirm drawing revision, design responsibility, material specification, loading and application.

02

Workshop selection

Verify the facility’s API Q1 registration, scope and capability for the required processes.

03

Manufacture & inspect

Agree traceability, machining, heat treatment, NDT, dimensional checks and witness points as applicable.

04

Document & release

Compile the agreed material records, inspection results and release documentation.

API Q1 concerns the workshop’s quality management system. Product-specific approvals, design validation, testing and any API Monogram requirement are separate and must be defined for the component. Workshop certificate details are confirmed during technical and commercial review.
